This is a stunningly beautiful antique white lace corset chemise /bloomers... also called a combination, because they were a combo of the blouse & bottoms in one. This adorable antique vintage undergarment was worn underneath the corsets back in the Victorian & Edwardian times. It has little shell buttons all the way down the back. At 1st we thought the buttons went in the front, but have since learned otherwise. The fabric is the finest...unbelievably beautiful! Ultra soft sheer white cotton with the finest Valenciennes
lace details all over front & back. There's a small name embroidered on the front side it says "Helene", we don't know if this is the maker or the owner. This antique lingerie chemise is what was worn underneath corsets just like the pink corset we have listed in this same category, they're from aprox. the same time period. There are little delicate ribbon "belt loops" inside the front lace near bust for a silk ribbon that will tie it in tighter for shape. If we can find a perfect ribbon we'll put one on but right now it's sold without a ribbon. This has that wonderful antique Gibson Girl style/shape commonly called a pigeon front, for the way it billows out full in front. The crotch is open as they were made back then so one would not have to remove her corset every time she went to powder her nose. When on it looks like a dress, the opening can not be seen. It would make the most gorgeous summer dress with just a little alteration & a slip underneath! A rare find!
