1950's Black Designer Trapeze Coat

We look high & low for clothing just like this... Exceptional quality...unusual & gorgeous style... really great condition! This is an amazing vintage mid century / 50's black coat that has a tie belt and flares out in the back. It has 3/4 sleeves and was made by the famous upscale department store I. Magnin. The fabric is not labeled so we don't know for sure what it is so I'll describe it the best I can. It's sort of stiff, it's backed in that paper stiffening fabric... we forget what it's called. It feels a bit rough to the touch like organza but we think it may be silk. It's lined in black silk tafetta. It has 2 belt holes, the belt  ties around waist but in the inside of the coat, thhen ties in a bow in the front on top of the coat. I'm sure there is a style name for this but we don't know what it's called. All we know is that it's just gorgeous!!!!

Condition Details: This has a bit of general wear mostly just to back/edge of neck (see photo) and to the belt holes, pockets... to the areas typically that get more use. It has lots of life left and does not look shabby at all. No fading. There's a repair to one of the underarm seams. It has 3 pinholes that are literally pinholes, they look like maybe a tag was there. 2 in back near underarm 1 in the middle of the front side.
