1960's Maxwell Shieff Designer Evening Dress - S

This is an amazing vintage designer dress from the 60's by Maxwell Shieff. The main part we're selling, of this 2 piece set , is the lace overlay. The dress is gorgeous but it has a few issues. It's fixable if you like, but the amazing lace overlay is what we're really selling. Price reflects this. We were going to only sell the lace but thought it was a good idea to keep them together so the new owner could have the dress reproduced if she wanted. All details on it's flaws are listed below in the condition section. It's made of silk chiffon in a soft sandy pale beige color. It's lined in ivory silk, zips in the back, and has a wonderful sexy hour glass shape. The lace overlay fall has chiffon covered buttons, darts, and is lined/backed in a delicate tulle. The lace is a work of art and has almost no flaws at all. It has metallic gold thread running through it. It would also look pretty over a little black dress or even jeans for the daring fashionista who knows how to dress & put it together. It fits around the ribcage & buttons in back like a bra and falls all the way down the back flaring out wider at the bottom. Stunning!

Condition Details: LACE: No holes or stains. It's almost mint condition. When you inspect really close you can barely see a small repair at the very bottom near hem (near floor). Near side of ribcage on one side is a tiny darker spot smaller than  1/2 a pea size. Not a stain. Not even worth mentioning. Only slight general wear. DRESS: Has 3 problems but at 1st look it is beautiful no obvious stains & no holes. Inside liner is longer than the outer silk, possibly it shrunk? It has underarm stains & repairs to the edge seams near stains (see pics) the lace covers this area. There are a few faint spots toward the bottom of dress in front (see pics). The  issues to the dress are the only reason it's listed in the sale rack.

Size: It's small. Dress is probbaly a US modern 1/2 or 3 at the biggest. It's very snug on our size 4 mannequin.

Bust: Dress is 32" - Lace is 32"/34" with darts

Ribcage: Lace is 30" around ribs

Waist:  25"  stretches to 26"

Hips: Fabric is 34"

Total length:  Dress is 45" total  - Lace is 12"-in front & 51" in back - from top of shoulder to bottom edge of lace
