Vintage Biker Jacket

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

This is a photo of me on my bike. I found this late 60’s vintage jacket a few years ago and I recently came across another one with a slightly different design of the metal studs… By the same label. Made of black cotton canvas with silver metal studs. They came with the matching pants too!  I save all the best vintage clothing for myself! If I can fit in it anyway.

1960’s Fashion

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

I came across these amazing fashion photos from the 1960’s and had to share. The 60’s and 1920’s are my 2 favorite decades. There’s nothing like vintage designer clothing from the late 60’s! Even the early 70’s was just so sexy and pure art for designers and music alike. Music, obviously, heavily influenced fashion at that time. There are a few Pucci outfits here along with Givenchy and other famous designers of that time. I have much more and will keep posting them today & over the next few days.

Vintage Clothing Kate Moss Mix

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

This vintage clothing & modern designer clothing mix was done by a girl on Polyvore.com… We love that site… So much fun! She used our 1950’s vintage black leather opera length gloves for this sexy Kate Moss mix. We love mixing vintage clothing with modern pieces, especially designer clothing & dresses. This mix is a great example.

Vintage Fashion: Funeral Style Mix & Flapper Mix

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

I’ve started putting together different vintage clothing pieces from my site to make different looks. Inspired by fashion magazines…Mix & match…sometimes different eras as well as mixing new fashion with vintage clothing pieces, which is how I always wear my vintage clothing. These are my first two. I’m working on more so let me know what you think.

This first vintage clothing mix is based on the 1960’s flapper inspired mini dress in a gold shimmer. The 20’s flapper style dresses were popular in the 60’s so I wanted to pair it with real flapper era clothing. A brown silk velvet 1920’s jacket/coat, 20’s brown feather cloche hat, 40’s brown alligator sling back shoes, & a 70’s leather travel bag. I love this look! It would also look amazing with a pair of black shoes and a black cloche.

My 2nd mix below was based on this very rare & amazing vintage hat! It’s a real 1940’s black mourning hat with veil & rhinestone hat pin in minty perfect condition. I had to pair it with the most glammy of items so I went for the super luxurious dark brown sable real designer mink fur coat, extra long black patent leather clutch, matching black patent leather skyscraper vintage stiletto heels, and that sexy little black dress: a ruched silk chiffon vintage dress that reminds us of Marilyn Monroe. Legs should be bare or be wrapped in a pair of ultra sheer black silk stocking with the seam up the back, hair sleek up or back, nails should be understated in a natural blush or French manicure and, of course, be topped off with a pair of red lips & big dark sunglasses.
