We fell in love with the fabric on this gorgeous 1950's vintage evening gown! This floor length formal vintage dress is perfect for the upcoming holiday parties. The color is stunning...it's a iridescent blend of red/fuchsia/ with a subtle blue undertone. This glamorous evening party dress or gown is made of a sharkskin rayon taffeta with the iridescent quality a very subtle one. The bodice is boned & strapless but inside it has metal hooks so at some point it's possible it had straps. It's VERY easy to have any tailor make a ruched halter strap or 2 thin shoulder straps...what ever your preference. You could find a close match fabric or another color would be a good choice too...black, or a color that matches the subtle undertones. The bodice is ruched front & back, the long skirt also has a gorgeous big gather on one side of the hips. Dress also has a little pleated flap detail on one side on top of the bodice, & a metal side zipper. The inside of the dress is unlined but the gathered part of the skirt has a red netting liner inside. This is true old Hollywood glamour! Mid century gorgeousness! These dresses are harder & harder to find these days. It's a classic that will always be in style!
