This is a very rare & special designer evening dress from the 1950's by designer label Nat Kaplan, known for some of the best evening dresses of the mid century! This one is the most special & beautiful we've ever seen from this label! The collar is simply stunning, made of the most delicate & gorgeous pure cotton hand sewn lace, it's backed in a delicate netting. The dress is made of the finest pure silk in black. There's a black sheer petticoat underneath to keep the skirt full, the waist of dress is lined in black organdy silk, bust & sleeves are unlined. Dress is not sheer at all. This dress has a long black metal side zipper. The adorable sleeves are fitted around the arms, then puff out a bit due to the darts. The details of this dress are just perfect & make this mid century dress extra special. We acquired this dress from the estate of the original owner, it was worn only 1 time, it looks like new! We so love this fit 'n' flare style! It's so feminine & a classic look that will never go out of fashion. This amazing vintage couture quality evening dress is red carpet worthy. An amazingly rare find!
- We have LAY-A-WAY! - See "Ordering + Lay Away" page for details.
Condition Details: The black silk has NO signs of wear at all. MINT CONDITION! The lace collar has a teensy little bit of wear (NO stains) just around the inside back of neck area only. It's hand sewn & can be easily removed for cleaning if you wish but we don't think it needs it at all. This dress was worn only 1 time.
