Here's a super gorgeous vintage dress from the 30's...very art deco...very luxurious. The fabric is amazing...Red silk velvet that's drapey and soft as only silk velvet is... unlined. This vintage evening dress was very difficult to photograph. The exact color is almost impossible to catch with a flash and the it reflects off of the velvet nap too much. In person it's a little more beautiful & rich in color. It's very elegant and long. The back of the bodice is separate from the skirt and wraps around to tie in the front. There are little metal snaps at one side for closures. The full fluttery sleeves make this even more adorable.
Condition Details: The front of the entire dress has no holes or stains. The color is rich & NOT faded. The back of the dress has a few darker spots, one pea sized on the back(see photo), & one on the very bottom of skirt near hem (a bit bigger), there are a few very small "sprinkles" that are not nearly as dark as these 2 spots but they are there near the bottom or but area. They did not show up in the photos. Minimal general all over wear to fabric not in any one place. We reinforced the seam near the snaps and made a repair to the bottom hem area of skirt in the back. Very wearable as is, very typical condition for it's age but if you want perfect like new mint condition this is not for you.
Size: Aprox. a modern US 7/8/9
Bust: 34"/ 35"/36"
Hips: The fabric is 38" around
Total length: Bodice 16" - Skirt is 43" - from waist seam
